YM211 Introduction to Youth & Family Ministry
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Before a student can effectively do ministry, he/she must develop the big picture. This class is an overview of the theological, philosophical, administrative and practical ministry issues necessary in being an effective disciple-making youth minister. This class will lay the foundation for other Youth Ministry classes on which the student will build during the process of becoming a complete, fully prepared, disciple-making youth minister for whatever ministry context God leads the student to enter.
COURSE RATIONALE
I love student ministry; It's been my life endeavor. I love coming along side new and current youth leaders to discover best current practices, spark curiosity and learning, sharpen skills, and critique current paradigms. We will have a great time as we explore the crazy world of young people, their culture, their families, and how to love them to Jesus.
May God teach us and equip us to be faithful in planting and watering the seeds of faith and creating the environments where youth people and their families can truly grow toward maturity!
