Coaching, Consulting, Training, and Speaking

RE:calibrate provides coaching, consulting, and training for leaders and teams in order to develop healthy transformational and sustainable churches and organizations.

Coaching

Ever heard the saying, "Even Tiger Woods has a golf coach"? It holds true in church leadership too. Consider this: Pastor stress is enormous. The demands and expectations of pastors today can be debilitating. Barna reported in 2021 that 38% of pastors said that they had considered quitting the ministry. It’s easy to become overwhelmed, depressed, stuck, or burned out. And yet, being a pastor is an incredible calling and is much needed in our churches. As your dedicated ministry coach, I bring over 40 years of hands-on experience to walk with you toward being more emotionally and spiritually healthy and more deeply connected to Jesus, while achieving your personal and professional goals.

We will navigate the complexities of ministry and the balance of work and family life more sustainably, and tackle relational conflicts, theological conundrums, organizational challenges, and capitalize on the unique opportunities within your context. Think of it like having your own personal seminary professor, spiritual director, or seasoned trainer right at your fingertips.

I'll be your sounding board, asking discerning practical and spiritual questions and brainstorming insights and solutions that may not have crossed your mind. From strategic vision and innovative solutions to conflict resolution and sermon development, I've got you covered. Together, we'll work on the goals you set and prioritize your mental, emotional, familial, and social well-being amidst the complex dynamics of ministry.

Trust-building will be at the core of our collaboration, fostering a relationship of encouragement and accountability. Let's connect on Google Meet – whether it's weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed – to encourage you to remain faithful and continue to flourish in Kingdom ministry for years to come.

Let me partner with what God is already doing in your life. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecc 4:12).

ReCalibrate: Student Ministry Institute (8 weeks or stand-alone)

Instead of taking some of your team to a large conference this year, why not bring a personalized, interactive conference to your whole team? Choose how you will experience the eight sessions (usually over eight weeks) to equip your team to work toward ministry health and together become the dynamic leaders your church and community need. Post-institute coaching is available. The eight sessions are listed below. Customization is encouraged.

  • Instilling Healthy Team Dynamics – We will examine the key elements necessary for a healthy team to function most effectively.

  • Examining Adolescent Culture – How can we incarnate ourselves and relate with these adolescent natives, understanding and speaking in their native worldview and language? We will explore the intricacies of American culture.

  • Understanding Adolescent Development – Adults working with youth must understand the dynamics of pre-, early, middle, and late adolescence in order to most effectively disciple them toward maturity

  • Fostering Relational Youth Ministry – This is a practical session for building deep and lasting (healthy) relationships with students so as to foster their growth in Christ.

  • Developing Life-Changing Student Learning - This session will focus on the details necessary to create healthy environments where discovery learning and adolescent spiritual growth can naturally occur.

  • Aiding Emotional Hygiene & First-Aid through Basic Counseling/Mentoring – Everyone can learn basic skills to help students deal with emotional hurts and better navigate the rough waters of adolescence.

  • Transforming Letter-Jacket Faith – Your adult leaders and parents will explore how to better prepare your HS graduates to have their own confident faith as lifelong apprentices of Jesus instead of taking off their “letter-jacket brittle faith” on the first day of college. We will seek to cultivate a growing ministry ecology.
