COURSE DESCRIPTION

YM480 is creative and experiential senior youth ministry course designed to deepen, shape, and equip the student with a variety of spiritual formation principles and practices, youth ministry programming skills, and servant-leadership mindsets so, as an apprentice of Jesus, he/she may train apprentices of Jesus for life in the kingdom of God. 

COURSE RATIONALE

Wow! It's finally here. Your last Youth Ministry course and your senior year. This is when it really gets serious. In just a few short months, you will either be venturing on an internship or be graduating & on to full-time ministry. Scary! And it is exciting. This is your chance to ask all the questions that you have yet to ask. What isn't clicking yet? Ask it. Let's discuss it. Spiritual formation is about maturity and learning to walk the way Jesus would walk on this planet if we were in his shoes! I'm excited to journey with you as you embark on a long and fruitful life of ministry in the kingdom of God. Let's learn together so we can invite others to "follow us, as we follow Him."

LEARNING EXPERIENCES

• Daily Student Led Sessions based on research

• Practice of writing and asking probing questions to foster deep insight and change

• Wrestling with the major doubts and questions of the faith

• Freedom for the students to ask any questions, voice any doubts, and explore any issue (under the umbrella of grace) with the goal of producing first hand, own faith
